The Post-Sandy Initiative, a multi-disciplinary collaboration of professionals led by the AIA NY Chapter was honored with the professionís highest recognition. Harken co-chaired the Waterfront Working Group. The initiative addressed impacts of Hurricane Sandy and escalating climate change and published Building Better, Building Smarter: Opportunities for Design and Development (May 2013). This coalition came together in the aftermath
